Good afternoon parents. First and foremost, I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well. After we played our last game, I told the girls we would be getting together as a team one final time to get some pizza and celebrate the season. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to limit activities, it doesn't appear we'll be able to do that anytime soon. I wanted to pass along a few final notes on the season:
- Thank you for your support and patience throughout the season. I know that all of our schedules and our kids’ schedules can get pretty hectic. I sincerely appreciate the turnout we had at all of our practices and games.
- A special thanks to Brian Moraca for all of his help coaching and keeping the books during the games. I couldn’t have gotten through the season without you!
- The goal of recreation basketball is for the girls to learn the game and have some fun. To that end, the season was an absolute success – regardless of the number of wins and losses. It was amazing how much progress we saw in the girls and in the team from the start of the season until the end. They should be proud of themselves!
- Last but not least, I encourage the girls to continue to play and work on their fundamentals throughout the summer. Whether they attend a basketball camp, walk over to the school to shoot around, or just dribble the ball in the driveway – training for next year starts now and should continue throughout the year. Their successes on the court during next season will be a product of the work they put in during the off season. Above all else, it's a game so have fun!
Thanks again for an enjoyable season and I wish the girls the best going forward. Please be safe and stay healthy.
